Oh! I get what you're talking about now. You should have clarified that, silly! ![]() So there were two English Funi dubs before Kai? What differentiates the two, exactly? If Ani could somehow find the clip that you're talking about, that would be great! (Unless those two listed above ARE the clips you were talking about. Haha) EDIT: nevermind, I see that those are clips from what you are talking about. I wish we had some clips of the same scene to compare them too. Are there any clips from later on in the series of the old dub? Edited by Doggo Champion 2k17, Aug 27 2011, 06:01 PM.

The two Funi dubs of Z sound very similar. Sometimes I could hardly tell the difference. |

From my knowledge Funimation only did one dub of dbz, two I guess because they re-dubbed some of it when they released the Orange bricks, and no they dont sound similar they sound completly different lol go watch the first 60 episodes that they dubbed reccently then watch it from 61 or something on and you can tell Gokus voice sounds so inexpierenced its unbelievable, those two clips Ani posted are perfect examples lol just listen to how bad Sean is at voicing Goku back then |

So are episodes 61 to the end all the old dub? As in they never re-dubbed those? |

:S what are you talking about the newer dub switching back to when they first dubbed dbz has nothing to do with the Orange Bricked sets, its like that for the Dragonbox to... The only thing I said about the Orange bricks is that how can anyone watch them with it being ridiculously over-saturated like literally over the top to the point it bleeds your eyes |

Yes, because Ocean dubbed the first 60 episodes first and Funimation never dubbed those until a couple years ago or maybe like 4 or 5 years ago I cant remember. I remember watching DBZ on tv and around when Goku fights Captain Ginu all the voices changed it was because Funimation took over from there that was like around 1998 sometime. So when they released the Orange bricked set, Funimation got the rights for the first 60 whatever episodes that wernt dubbed by them and they dubbed them in like 2006 or 07 around that time and thats why it sounds so much better because they all had tons of experience by then, then it just switches back to when they dubbed it a long time ago in 1998 they re-dubbed some lines but like Ani said Scean was busy doing something else or grew tired of DBZ at that time so Gokus voice was left completely untouched. |

I think Schemmel did a good job as Goku from the Android arc onwards in the original dub. |

I have the whole orange brick set. It does not bother my eyes at all lol. For some reason, I thought it was better quality than when I watched on cartoon network. I still have a taped episode believe it or not and watched it just to compare. I watch it on a 32 inch t.v too so it's fine for me. I guess I just don't notice those things lol. The bad quality of the Orange Bricks is majorly over-exaggerated. I have all the sets and they're completely fine. I've also watched episodes from the Dragonbox and whilst I obviously put the Dragonboxes above the Orange Bricks, I still love the Orange Bricks. In short, Orange Bricks aren't as bad as people say. |

Lol yeah I had the Orange Bricked set to and when I watched it I thought it looked fine as well, it would be fine for anyone im sure if they watched it without knowing that it was incredibly over saturated. But trust me once you see the Dragonbox you wont go back to the Orange bricked set, you can enjoy your Orange bricked set thats fine but Im telling you! Try watching the Dragonbox! once you really see what its supose to look like and then you go back to the Orange bricks you can tell that it looks like *****, and you will never want to watch the Orange bricks again because you can see more detail in the Dragonbox and the color and picture just looks better. Don't just watch a couple episodes eaither watch like ten and then go back to the Orange bricks and you will be like WTF? |

I think the footage they used for the Cartoonnetwork airings was the same footage they had on the DVD singles. |
